Welcome to the Mims Volunteer Fire Department, Inc., a nonprofit organization proudly serving the residents of Mims, Florida.
Our department is built on dedication, teamwork, and the shared belief that neighbors helping neighbors makes our community safer and stronger.
Every alarm answered, every rescue performed, and every life protected reflects the heart of volunteer service that has defined our department since its founding.

To protect lives, property, and the environment through emergency response, fire prevention, and community education — while upholding the highest standards of professionalism, integrity, and compassion.
We are committed not only to fighting fires but also to fostering awareness, preparedness, and trust within the community we serve.
WHO WE ARE
The Mims Volunteer Fire Department, Inc. is composed of dedicated men and women who serve as first responders — providing fire suppression, emergency medical assistance, and rescue services in coordination with local and state agencies.
Operating from our main station at 2476 Taylor Street, Mims, FL 32754, we are a nonprofit volunteer organization sustained by the commitment of our firefighters, the support of local residents, and community contributions.
Even with modest financial resources (annual gross receipts under $50,000), every dollar and every hour donated helps save lives and safeguard our town.
WHAT WE DO
Fire Suppression: Responding to structural, vehicle, and wildland fires throughout Mims and neighboring areas.
Emergency Response: Providing immediate aid in medical emergencies and traffic incidents.
Rescue Operations: Assisting during storms, floods, and disaster recovery efforts.
Community Education: Offering fire safety training, school visits, and public awareness programs.
Volunteer Development: Training and equipping local residents to become certified responders.
